In loving memory of Joan Mary Boelkow, age 71, who passed away on October 3, 2024. Born on July 28, 1953, in Racine, WI, Joan was the cherished daughter of Donald and Colette Albright (nee Monty).
Growing up in Racine, her family moved to Brown Deer, where she graduated from Brown Deer High School in 1971, later marrying her high school sweetheart, Tom, on August 11, 1973. Together, they shared many beautiful memories and a lifetime of love and companionship.
Joan's passion for exploring new places led her on countless road trips, especially to destinations like Yellowstone, Florida, Maine and Las Vegas. She cherished creating lasting memories with her grandchildren during their summer adventures.
Joan was a vibrant soul who brought joy to everyone around her. Known for her warm smile and generous heart, she will be remembered as "The Party Planner," always bringing people together and creating unforgettable memories. Joan's friendly nature and caring personality made her a cherished friend to many, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Joan also dedicated her life to spreading awareness and support for those affected by Angelman Syndrome, which is also a foundation that provides ongoing care for her daughter and others in need with disabilities.
Joan leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Thomas; daughters Stacy Lynn and Lindsay Joan (James) Sarozek; grandchildren Preston James, Jared Thomas, Courtney Rose; sisters Jane Parker and Jeri (Brian) Schieble; brother John (Julie) Albright; along with many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and all the medical professionals who provided care and support over the years. Also, a special thank you to everyone at St. Coletta School, a school that provides care for Stacy and we continue our appreciation of their care for her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Coletta of Wisconsin in Joan's Boelkow's memory for her daughter, Stacy (Attn: Joan Boelkow's daughter, Stacy Boelkow, N4637 Co Rd Y, Jefferson, WI 53549), a school that provides care for her daughter and is very close to her heart.
