Joann "Joey" Schiefelbein

Joann Schiefelbein born July 18, 1935 passed peacefully on May 20, 2024, at the age of 88, surrounded by her family and friends at her home. Proceeded in death by her loving husband David D. Schiefelbein, parents Ralph and Iris Hagenkord.

While there were many that called her “mom” she was a mother of six. Peggy (Joe) Butler, Scott (Joyce) Schiefelbein, Chris (Sandy) Schiefelbein, Wendy (Bill) Morris, Craig (Mary) Schiefelbein and Ryan (Kim) Schiefelbein, Stuart P. (Laura) Oliver and Jay (Sheri) Powell; sister Elise (John) Nalisnick.

Joey was blessed with 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and 2 nephews.

Among her many passions, family was always first. She had many wonderful friends and loved them dearly. Her love for art was award-winning. Her painting of an iris won her first place and now hangs in the city of Waukesha Courthouse.

Joey started modeling at a young age and through her life was a interior designer for Iris Interiors, waitress and bookkeeper for Memory and More/P.D.S. She retired comfortably to her home in Oconomowoc where she enjoyed outings with family and friends, painting and bird watching.

Not only did she love to laugh, she loved to make others laugh. She will be greatly missed.

Special thanks to her loving caretakers from St. Croix and Cornerstone, especially Debbie Monroe and her granddaughter Jennie Schiefelbein.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 12:00pm-1:30pm with a service to follow. Pastor Luke Dye will be presiding. Joey will be laid to rest at LaBelle Cemetery following the service.
