OCONOMOWOC – John C. Andrews, 79, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025. Born in Elmira, New York on August 17, 1945, John was adopted as a baby by Charles and Marie Andrews. John grew up in the Milwaukee area and at the family’s lake house on Beaver Lake of which he had very fond childhood memories.

In 1970, John joined the Army and was stationed in Europe, receiving the National Defense Service Medal for his service. Following discharge, John entered the trades as a licensed electrician and worked as an independent contractor throughout the Milwaukee area for many years. Chapter Two of John’s career was as a municipal building inspector in Milwaukee County and the Lake Country areas west of the city, until retirement.

John was a devoted husband for 37 years to the love-of-his-life, Elizabeth (Betsy) Andrews. He is survived by Betsy; his sons, Terry and Todd; stepdaughter, Emily Jon Tobias; many grandchildren, extended family and friends.

John was a people person. He had an infectious smile, a great sense of humor, loved to listen to others’ stories and share his own. John was always willing to help out family or friends with any type of home project. Although an electrician by trade, John could fix just about anything, which put his vast collection of tools to great use. John enjoyed country living at the Watertown property he and Betsy beautifully renovated and cared for over the years. John took great pride in their homestead, which he lovingly referred to as, “The Estate.”

John will be dearly missed. The family is planning a private memorial and scattering of ashes over flowing water, per John’s wishes.
