John C. Gutowski

John C. Gutowski age 73 of Sullivan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, April 22, 2019. John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sharon, his children Tina (Nathan) Belongia/Degner and Melisa (Jesus) Torres, grandchildren Joshua Degner and Jessica (Parker Hoisngton Sr.) Degner, Isabella Torres and Victoria Torres along with a great-grandchild Parker Hoisngton Jr. John is further survived by extended family Octavia Haines, Carrie Manuel and Jeffery Moore. Brothers and sisters: Mary Ann (Steve) Thomson, David (Sue) Gutowski, Joy Barber, Gale Page, Gloria Luckett, Robert Gutowski, Monica (Mark) LaFave, Peter (Pam) Skudlark and Karen (Tony) Shefchik/Skudlark along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends including Max. John was preceded in death by his parents Luvena Bell and Ray Skudlark, John and Doris Gutowski and his grand-daughter Ericka Gutowski. John proudly served his country as a Marine and served in Vietnam. He went on to be the Commander of the VFW Post for many years. He was an over the road owner/operator truck driver for many years. He was an avid outdoors man and loved hunting, fishing, camping and cruising. He was a devoted husband and father and most of all loved being with his family. He will be truly missed by his family and everyone that knew him. A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 PM until a service at 3:00 PM all to take place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home. The family would like to give a special thank you to all of John's caregivers for their wonderful and compassionate care. The family truly appreciates their time and dedication.
