John David Dora, Sr.

John David Dora, Sr., age 66 passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 1, 2022. John was born in Milwaukee, WI to David and Florence (nee Wenger) on December 13, 1955.

John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda; his beautiful children, Ryan (Paula), Ross (Angie), Neil (Shalynn), Sarah (Anthony) Thompson and John Jr. (Kaitlyn); grandchildren, Taylor (Jordan), Hunter, Ethan, Ava, Casey, Greyson, Charlotte and Eloise; siblings, Deborah Garber and Jeffrey (Carol) Campbell; nephews, Jeremy (Angela) and Josh; mother-in-law Mary Lou Dauffenbach.

John is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, James Garber.

John met the love of his life, Tillie (Linda), in 8th grade and they married August 13, 1976. Together they had five beautiful children and raised them in the Lake Country area. He and Linda created wonderful memories road tripping across the country on vacations. He fully believed in making memories with his family above anything else and had a love for traveling out West. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. John found joy in making others happy and was a generous man. He loved to make people laugh with his “dad” jokes and inspired them to succeed. John especially did this through the businesses he started and the relationships he had with his employees and customers. John built his business from the ground up and loved the challenges that came with running his own company. He passed on his strong work ethic to his children and grandchildren. Over the years, John had eight grandchildren, whom he loved unconditionally. He was always there to play a game, read a book, do puzzles and listen to their stories.

Throughout his life, John was anchored in the Lord. Following his stroke in 2016, his faith became stronger and he believed in God’s plan. Through leading by example, he passed on these values to his children and grandchildren. As Psalm 73:26 says – My flesh and my heart faileth: BUT God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.

John lived his life to the fullest with zero regrets. He would want to be remembered as someone who never looked back but always forward. John will be deeply missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name are welcome to AngelsGrace Hospice.
