John J. Dilallo Sr.

John J. DiLallo, Sr., age 88, of Oconomowoc, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. John is survived by his loving wife Bette of 54 years; his children John (Isabel) DiLallo, Jr., Paul (Carolyn) DiLallo, Anne (Edward Lockard) DiLallo; his granddaughters Mia, Ava, Olivia and Lena; his siblings Anthony and Jean along with many more family and friends. John is preceded in death by his siblings Rachel, Carl, Lewis, Ann and Joseph. John will be remembered for his kind, gentle and compassionate nature. He was always ready with a warm smile and a great sense of humor. John was an Ohio State Buckeye who earned a degree in electrical engineering, and a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in the Korean War. After college, John left Ohio to take an engineering job at Allis Chalmers in West Allis, Wisconsin. He was soon to meet his love and future wife, Bette Charnecke, and to develop an enduring loyalty to the Brewers, the Packers, and all things Wisconsin. He loved sailing and golf, and will surely continue to shoot his age in heaven. Most of all, John was a generous and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. This angel on earth has joined the angels in heaven. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his many friends and family. A visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:30am at St. Jerome Catholic Church (995 Silver Lake St, Oconomowoc, WI 53066). A Mass of Christian Burial will also take place at St. Jerome Catholic Church on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to AngelsGrace Hospice (c/o ProHealth Care Foundation, 725 American Avenue, Waukesha, Wisconsin, 53188) in Oconomowoc or to Marquette University High School (Development Office, Marquette University High School, 3401 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53208) in Milwaukee. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Shorehaven Rehabilitation Center and to AngelsGrace Hospice for the loving care shown to John.
