John “Jack” Sobczak, age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 30, 2024. John was born on August 1, 1948, in Milwaukee, WI, to his parents, Anthony and Jeanette Sobczak. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Eugene and brother Conrad.
Jack married the love of his life, Dawn, in April 1970, a love which only grew over time. Together they started their life and had 3 sons; Mark (Heather), Brad (Jessica) and Matthew (Gina) who gave them 7 beloved grandchildren: Audrey, Olivia, Jack (Allison), Genavieve, Connor, Adam and Alexa.
Jack found great joy and pride in attending and supporting his children and grandchildren's sports. He was a fixture in the bleachers. He had a passion for football, particularly cheering on the Packers and Badgers, and enjoyed participating in the Gentlemen’s fantasy football league. His greatest love was his family, and he treasured every moment spent in their company.
Jack had a knack for bringing people together, often regaling them with his storytelling and witty jokes, all while ensuring laughter and smiles were shared by all. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially his cherished Gentleman's Weekends at Mercer Lake. These moments of camaraderie brought light to his life and filled his heart with happiness. If Jack created a nickname for you then you knew you were “in” for life.
Jack leaves behind a legacy defined by his unwavering dedication and 50-year career as a self-made executive and consultant in the petroleum industry. A consummate deal maker and networker, his influence and expertise resonated throughout his extensive professional journey. His passion and creativity paved the way for his remarkable success, leading him to become a trusted advisor and consultant to many in his career. He enjoyed helping others succeed.
Jack will also be remembered by numerous other family, friends & professional contacts.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kathleen Hemauer and the compassionate staff at Pro Health Cancer Center for their unwavering dedication and care during this time.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM with a service to follow.
