John grew up in the Milwaukee Highlands, graduated from Marquette High School and Marquette University. He served proudly in the United States Navy as a Gunnery Officer on the USS Halford. Retired from Arandall Schmidt after 45 years as VP of Sales & Marketing. John served on the Board of Directors of Security Savings and Loan and was a past president of Archdiocesan Counsel of Catholic Men. He was a founding member of the EGGS’s (Elm Grove Golf Society) and cherished the back and forth banter that defined those lifelong friendships. He volunteered at Laubach Literacy Center teaching English and math. John was also an avid fisherman, hunter, aviator & equestrian. He loved a good joke (or even a bad one). Most of all he loved his family. John looked for and found the good in everyone he met from all walks of life. He had a knack for keeping conversations light and ending with a quick witted play on words or light hearted joke. You couldn’t help walking away with a smile on your face. We will miss him immensely. A Funeral Mass will be held for John on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM with a visitation for family and friends to start at 9:00 AM all to take place at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church in Pewaukee. A private burial for the family will follow. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary at W284N698 Cherry Ln., Waukesha, WI 5318
