Joseph Binter

Age 82 of Nashotah,WI and Summerfield, FL, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 29, 2010 surrounded by family. Cherished husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 60 years, Lorraine (nee Konkol), his four children: Kathleen (Mark) Hamilton, Robert (Mary) Binter, Jane (Kelvin) Maahs, and James Binter; grandchildren: Anne and Jeanna Hamilton, Chad, Ashley and Kyle Binter, Andrew (Jenna) Maahs and Gary Maahs and great grandson Seth Alexander Maahs. He is further survived by his sister Dorothy Nettesheim, special nephew, Kenneth Bauer, other nieces, nephews relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, Sr. and Mary Binter, by his two sons, Jeffrey and Charles Binter and his brother Carl. He was born January 11, 1928 in Troepolach, Austria, emigrated to the U.S. in 1936. Joseph honorably served in the US Marine Corp and US Air Force. He retired from the Milwaukee Police Force after 33 years of service. In addition to his awards and recognition for bravery, he was most proud of being “an honest cop”. Part of his post retirement activities included volunteering for the Marion County, FL Sheriff’s Department. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Oconomowoc Hospital, Purity Dialysis Center, AngelsGrace Hospice, and Fr. Fred Alexander. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at St. Mary of the Hill Church, Holy Hill (St. Therese Chapel, the lower church at Holy Hill) from 8:30 AM until the Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 AM. Burial will immediately following at St. Augustine Cemetery.
