Joyce M. Norton

Oconomowoc - Joyce M. Norton, age 88, of Oconomowoc, passed away Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 at AngelsGrace Hospice, with her family by her side. She was born August 21, 1931 in Monroe, WI to Albert and Emma Speich. She trained in Medical Technology at Northwest Technical School in Minneapolis, MN. She was a lab and X-ray technician at the Gonstead Clinic in Monroe. On June 16, 1956 Joyce married Roger J. Norton at St. Victor's Church in Monroe. Together they had four children: Margaret, Michael, Thomas, and Mary. They lived and grew up in the Lake Country Area. The family owned and operated Norton's Breezy Point Resort on Okauchee Lake. After retirement, Joyce enjoyed traveling with her family, line dancing, and Country Music. She is survived by her husband, Roger; her children: Michael, Thomas (Victoria), and Mary, and son-in-law, Jeff (Kristie) Thwaits; her grandchildren: Zachary (Meghan) Thwaits, Katherine (Michael) Affholder, Emily Thwaits, Max Maerder, Josh (Meghan) Goldner, and Jessica (Burke) Nelson; as well as 9 great-grandchildren; and her sister Kathryn. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret; her sister, Rosemary; and brothers Rodney and Richard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Noon at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 995 Silver Lake Rd., Oconomowoc, WI 53066. A visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of Mass at Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jerome's Catholic Church, AngelsGrace Hospice, or Alzheimer's Foundation, would be appreciated.
