June Goodrich

June Goodrich, Hartland, died on Friday, August 3, 2012 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was born on June 22, 1936, to Herbert and Elsie (Kohn) Whirry. On July 19, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gerald Goodrich, who survives her along with their children, Garrett and Gloria. Also surviving are her sister, Patricia Cowley; sister-in-law, Betty Whirry; nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Lester and Maurice; and sister Lillian. June was a graduate of Columbia Co. Teachers College and UW Oshkosh. She was an elementary teacher in Kingston, Madison, Kenosha, and Half Day, IL, and retired in 2002 as a teacher's aide in Oconomowoc. June was involved in women's organizations in various churches, and was a member of Christ the King Church, Delafield. Funeral services will be held at Christ the King Church, 1600 N. Genesee Street, Delafield, WI on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow the service at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in the Town of Pewaukee. Special thanks to the staff at Franciscan Woods, Brookfield, for their exceptional care given to June in the last weeks of her life. Memorials will be divided among Lutheran Social Services Mind Works, Shorehaven Adult Day Center, Curative Care Network, and Christ the King Church.
