June Audrey Lauer

With sadness we share the news that June Audrey Lauer, age 83 from Ixonia, WI was called peacefully to Heaven on January 29th, 2025 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, in Oconto Falls, WI, after battling a combination of health issues in recent months.

 June was born the daughter of the late Fred and Ina (Miller) Laemerhirt on June 26th, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI

 June graduated from Lincoln High School, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI in 1959. June’s waitressing career started at a young age as a carhop and continued until she retired in 2012 at 70 years old from Schwefel’s Restaurant in Oconomowoc, WI. June loved her home and working in her yard and many gardens. At 71 years old she rescued Bailey, her Jack Russel Terrier. Bailey was stubborn and tenacious and June loved her dearly and let her have her own way. Mom always loved a challenge! June was a long-time member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Watertown, WI.

 June was a loving mother and is survived by her daughter Brenda Halkoski and son-in-law Ross Halkoski, Lena, WI; and sister Valerie (Andy) Medved, West Allis, WI. She is preceded in death by brother, Richard Whitbeck, Wisconsin Rapids, WI and four sisters, Beryl Anderson (John), Eland, WI, Donna (Richard) Sigler, Nekoosa, WI, Karen (Nick) Plasky, West Bend, WI, Marlene (Wayne) Markley, Montrose, CO., and nieces, nephews and friends.

 Visitation will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, Oconomowoc, WI, 2228 Silver Maple Lane on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 1-3pm, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00pm.
