Kathleen "Kay" Bessette

Kathleen M. Bessette 'Kay' (nee Hoernig), 64, of Dousman Wisconsin, born September 4, 1949 and became an angel unexpectedly on Monday, July 7, 2014. On August 15, 1986 she married Paul D. Bessette. Kay earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Marian College in 1971. Kay had a long and distinguished career in nursing and for the last 9 years has been employed by Milwaukee County in the behavioral health unit. Kay was very active in the KMRA for many years and was a Boy Scout leader for 5 years. Kay is survived by her husband and soul mate, Paul; daughters, Nicole Nee, Noel (Dan) Bersch; sons, Ryan and Justin; step-son Eric; grandchildren, Morgan Nee, Jake and Jenna Bersch. She is also survived by sisters Aileen (Robert) Koenig and Janine (Michael) Deitte. She is also survived by many loving family members, friends and coworkers. She is preceded in death by her parents Carl A. and Harriet M. (Carpenter) Hoernig and her sister Patricia Koenig. Kay will be missed for her warm smile, the love she had for her children and grandchildren, huge meals and her surprise gifts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bruno Catholic Church, 226 West Ottawa Avenue in Dousman on Saturday, July 12th at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass, all to be held at the church. Burial will immediately follow Mass at St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery in Dousman. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Kay's name to the Kettle Moraine Food Pantry or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
