Kathleen M. Rothe

Kathleen Rothe, age 87, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Her husband Robert Rothe precedes her in death. She is survived by her son Stephen, daughter Mary (Scott), and granddaughter Brianna (Grant). Siblings Chuck, Ray, Pat, and Sally, survive Kathie. Many nephews, nieces and cousins also survive her. Kathie was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The family moved to Marshfield, then to Fennimore where she finished High School and met future husband Bob. In 1953 she graduated from her Nursing program at Columbus Hospital in Chicago. After graduation, Kathie and Bob married in 1954 and then moved to Oconomowoc. She began working for a number of years as a nurse at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. Following her career in nursing, she enjoyed staying active by playing tennis, golf and bridge. Her bridge playing became her lifelong activity. Kathleen loved spending time with her family and she was very actively involved in her church where she was a parishioner for over 60 years. She had been a longtime church choir member, and over the years volunteered her time in many areas of church service. The family would like to extend gratitude and thanks to the nurses, doctors and caregivers at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, Froedtert Cardiac ICU, and Angel’s Grace Hospice. Visitation will be on Friday, September 20 in St. Jerome’s Narthex from 11:00a.m.-12:30p.m. Family will gather at a small graveside service that afternoon. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made to Angel’s Grace Hospice would be appreciated.
