Kathleen Mary Cardenas

Kathleen Mary Cardenas sadly passed away on October 15, 2023, at the age of 67. Born on November 19, 1955, in Milwaukee, WI, to Earl and Louise Ellis, Kathleen, known to her loved ones as Kathy, brought immense joy to everyone she encountered throughout her life.

Kathy's story was one of love, strength and devotion. She cherished her family above all else, and her unwavering love for them was evident in every aspect of her life. Kathy and Roger were high school sweethearts who met on the first day of school at Pulaski High School in Milwaukee. Their love story blossomed, and they were married in June 1974, embarking on a remarkable journey together that spanned an incredible 52 1/2 years.

As Kathy grew older, she discovered her true passion for cooking and nurtured a talent that brought happiness to her loved ones. Whether it was a special occasion or a simple weeknight dinner, Kathy's meals always brought everyone together and created lasting memories.

Kathy's deep affection for animals was apparent, as she adored her dogs and horses. Her horse farm in Elkhorn, WI was her sanctuary and a reflection of her compassionate nature. She found solace among her furry friends and embraced the beauty of nature that surrounded her home.

Kathy's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones, and she will be profoundly missed. She is survived by her devoted husband, Roger, who shared a bond of love and companionship that endured the test of time; her two sons, Jeremy (Angie) and Jessie (Kerri); grandchildren, Morgan, Wyatt, Cody, Kolton and Kylynn; along with many other family and friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jim.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will take place on November 2, 2023 at Artisan 179 (179 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Pewaukee, WI 53072) from 5:00pm-8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wisconsin Humane Society in Kathy’s name are welcome.
