Kathy departed her earthly life and entered Eternal rest early in the morning on Sunday, November 17, 2024, just weeks shy of her 86th birthday. She was surrounded by her loving daughter Lisa, son-in-law, Bill, and the sweet staff of Hartland Place in Hartland, Wisconsin as she went home to be with the Lord. Some of her final words were how she was ready to go “home” to her husband, Lee. She certainly entered Heaven being hugged by Lee and is dancing with Jesus.
Kathy was born in Manitowoc, WI on December 5th, 1938, to Donald G. Storms and Florence E. (Seekamp) Storms. Kathy was a lifelong steward of her faith and was blessed in return when she met her loving husband Lee at St. James Episcopal Church in Manitowoc, WI. Kathy and Lee later went on to get married on April 26th, 1958, at the very same church they met at.
Kathy was a devoted wife, supporting her husband in every way she could. One could not see Kathy without Lee. Together they had two daughters, Lisa (Bill) Riemer, and Lori (Tom) Degnitz. Kathy was the epitome of family oriented, making sure her daughters and grandchildren knew how loved they were, no matter the distance that may have separated them.
The love Kathy had to offer didn’t end with her family. Kathy worked as a Legal Secretary earlier in her adulthood, but her true passion was in advocating for her peers as a Senior Benefits Specialist in Adams-Friendship, WI. She and her husband then retired to Misson, Texas where they were RV Park Managers at Kountry Korral. Everyone surrounding Kathy always could feel her loving and caring heart.
Kathy is survived by her daughters, Lori Degnitz and Lisa (Bill) Riemer; grandchildren Brad (Leah) Riemer, Karla (Ken) Leu, Sarah Degnitz, and Emily Degnitz; and her great-grandson, Brody Alan Riemer. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Alan, son-in-law Thomas Degnitz, her beloved husband Lee, and other treasured family and friends.
The family extends their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Hartland Place and the hospice staff at Preceptor Hospice for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association are welcome.
As those left earthside mourn the loss of Kathy, join us in celebrating her life at Zion Episcopal Church (237 N Lake Rd., Oconomowoc, WI 53066) on Thursday, December 5th, 2024. There will be a visitation at 10:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am. Kathy will be laid to rest on the point at Zion Episcopal Church in the spring.
