Kenneth Dale Seibert of Johnson Creek, WI, and formerly of Rochester, MN, passed away on January 1, 2025. He was 70 years old.
Ken was born on April 20, 1954, to Clair and Susan “Jo” Seibert of Pitcairn, PA. The family moved to Rochester, MN, when Ken was a toddler. As a youth, he participated in Indian Guides and the Boy Scouts, and he played football and other numerous activities at Whitewater State Park.
As a teen, he attended Mayo Senior High School and became a state champion in diving. During his high school years, Ken enjoyed adventuring in his yellow Jeep and lifeguarding at the local pool. After graduation, Ken married his high school sweetheart, Lori (Brown) Anneke. They moved to Chicago where Ken served in the United States Navy for two years. After, they moved to Minnesota. Ken took a job at IBM, where he worked for the majority of his career, both in Minnesota and Vermont. Ken and Lori had two daughters, Kelly and Kim.
Ken and Lori later divorced, and Ken transferred to Vermont with IBM. He spent several years there before moving to Wisconsin. There, he drove school busses, enjoying his job while looking for pheasants, deer and turkeys along his routes. He also worked as a car salesman for a year.
Throughout his life, Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and bowling. He also loved woodworking and making flower boxes in his workshop. The family’s A-frame cabin in northern Minnesota, North Spot Lodge, was his favorite vacation spot, as he loved spending time in nature there with his family.
Ken’s great smile and infectious laugh will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughters, Kelly (Tom) Walsh and Kimberly Seibert; his siblings, Kathy (David) Bergemann and Keith (Marcia) Seibert; his three grandchildren, Tomasz, Peter and Aleks Walsh; an aunt; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and bowling and golf buddies. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Thanks to Ken’s donation, two blind people will receive Ken’s corneas and will gain their eyesight.
His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire ICU staff at Aurora Summit Hospital for their care and support of Ken and his family. They would also like to thank local police and EMTs for getting him safely to the hospital.
A funeral service for Ken will be on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, with a visitation for family and friends starting at 3:00 PM until time of service at 4:00 PM at Pagenkopf Funeral Home.
Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made in Ken's memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation at www.komen.org or Wildlife in Need at www.helpingwildlife.org.
Ken will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by his family and friends.
