Kenneth H. Lauterbach, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 7, 2023. Ken was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 28, 1931 to Howard and Minnie Lauterbach.
Ken is survived by his children, Jean Lauterbach, Jay (Lori) Lauterbach, Jerry (Janice) Stricker, Jim (Gina) Stricker, and Mary Ann Barnett; grandchildren, Jesse Illian, Mike (Jessica) Lauterbach, Bethany (Craig) Wilde, Jonathan (Beth) Lauterbach, Nathan (Melissa) Lauterbach and Shane (Michael) Stricker; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Bernice) Lauterbach; step-siblings, Steve (Bobbie) Wanta and Karen (John) Baird; best friend and companion, Jan Gainer; along with many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Ken is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Marilyn; parents; stepmother, Helen Lauterbach; brother, Alan “Butch” Lauterbach; son-in-law, John Illian.
Ken loved anything that he could drive, whether it be flying in his plane, traveling in the RV, boating, or motorcycling.
Ken had a lifelong interest in golf, where in 1995, he achieved his second Hole in One. He and Marilyn took pride in participating in RVICS (Roving Volunteers In Christ’s Service) doing missionary work for various Christian organizations.
Ken was also a proud veteran, where he served in the United States Air Force.
He also enjoyed scuba diving, snow skiing and square dancing. Ken loved reading mysteries on his Ipad and watching tv, especially the news, football and the Golf Channel.
Family was most important to Ken. His time spent with his grandchildren meant everything to him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Mercy Ships, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Sussex United Methodist Church in Ken’s name are appreciated.
A visitation will take place on January 28, 2023 at Glenview Memorial Gardens Chapel (W1219 Glenview Ave, Ixonia, WI 53036) from 12:30pm-2:00pm with a service to follow. Ken will be laid to rest with Marilyn following the service.
