Laurie Lynn Manley, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 29, 2023, at the age of 56. Born on March 21, 1967, in Waukesha, WI, Laurie brought immense joy and love into the lives of those who knew her.
Laurie's unyielding spirit and zest for life were apparent throughout her journey. Although facing the challenges of having multiple handicaps, including blindness from birth, she never let her disabilities hinder her boundless enthusiasm. Laurie embraced the world with open arms, delighting in the simple pleasures of dancing and singing. Her infectious laughter and radiant smile brightened any room she entered.
Laurie is survived by her parents, Arthur and Theresa Manley, who stood by her side, providing unwavering love and support throughout her life. Laurie's siblings, Jeffrey Manley and Holly (Donald) Grant; her nieces and nephews, Sean and Alyssa Manley, and Jake and Nena Grant; and many other loving family and dear friends.
Despite facing limitations, Laurie embraced life with grace and found joy in the simplest of moments. Laurie had a unique way of communicating, using her hands to express herself and engage with others. This ability allowed her to form deep connections and share her vibrant spirit with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her life, Laurie held a special place in the hearts of those who knew her best. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Robin Zehnder, whose compassionate care provided comfort and support to Laurie's life. Additionally, they extend their sincerest appreciation to the caregivers at Open Arms Angelica, Laurie's last group home, for their unwavering dedication and love.
A visitation will take place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 10:00am-12:00pm with a service to follow.
