Laverne Marjorie Johnson

Laverne M. Johnson, age 95 of Oconomowoc, formerly of Sheboygan Falls, WI, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Friday, January 22, 2016. She was born September 18, 1920 to Semon Hamre and Gertrude Herr. Laverne is survived by her loving children Suzanne (Gene) Miller, Carol (Terry) Anderson, her grandchildren Richard Anderson, Sarah (Randy) Knie, Amanda (Jim) Kojis, Brenda (Monte) Knetter and her great grandchildren Sadie, Finn, Jude and Reece Knie, Antigone, Levin, Trajan and Solon Knetter and Kacy and Olivia Kojis. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Laverne was preceded in death by her husbands Donald Johnson and Bill Kucziauskas, brothers Carmen (Marcy) Hamre and Quentin (Ann) Hamre. Memorial services for Laverne will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 12:00pm with a visitation starting for family and friends at 11:00am all to be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church (N60 W35980 Lake Dr. Oconomowoc). Memorials are suggested to Cancer Research Institute (1 Exchange Plaza 55 Broadway, Suite 1802 New York, NY 10006). Laverne was a former employee of Allstate Insurance and Kohler Company. She enjoyed golf, playing cards and water aerobics. She was a very active member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. We would especially like to thank Lori from Aurora at Home Hospice for her care and compassion in helping our mother through this difficult time and for the love and support she gave to our family. Also, our appreciation to the staff at Lake Country Landing for the tender loving care given towards our mom in her last days and for making it a place where she felt at home for these last five months. A special Thank you to Pastor Dan Helwig for being her friend and for his visits this past week.
