Lawrence Richard Tetzlaff, a loving husband, father, and papa passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2024, at the age of 76. Larry was born in Oconomowoc on November 7, 1947, to Richard Frederick and Esther Meta (nee Born) Tetzlaff.

Larry graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1965 and pursued a fulfilling career as a proud toolmaker at Super Steel for 37 years, where he poured his passion and dedication into his work. He found great joy in bringing precision and skill to everything he created. In his free time, Larry was an avid hunter, farmer, and sportsman, finding solace in the great outdoors. His passion for hunting led him on unforgettable adventures in Africa, Canada, Colorado and on his own land, creating cherished memories that he held close to his heart.

He was a devoted member of various organizations, including the Menomonee Falls Gun Club, Mapleton Hook and Shell, Safari Club International, and the Okauchee American Legion. Larry was also known for his unwavering support of the NRA, a cause close to his heart. His dedication to preserving American freedoms and values through responsible gun ownership was deeply admired by those who knew him.

Larry's service in the Army reserves and active involvement in these clubs showcased his commitment to serving his country and community.

Furthermore, Larry's unwavering commitment extended to his community and faith. A lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hartland, he found spiritual grounding and fellowship among his congregation. His dedication to his church family and community was a testament to his kind and generous spirit.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years, Kathy (nee Hoeft), his daughters Dawn (Jeff) Fliss and Jennifer (Doug) Wildes, and his cherished grandchildren Ethan Wildes, Adam Wildes, Clayton (fiancé Haley) Fliss, Gretta Fliss, and Sara Wildes. His memory will be forever cherished by his family, including his sister Mary (Lawrence) Fochs, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, sister Martha Weir Jahnke, and infant brother Richard.

Larry's memory will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A visitation will take place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (new location: 2228 N Silver Maple LN, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 11:00am to 2:00pm, with a service to follow. Larry will be laid to rest following the service at Glenview Memorial Gardens, where military honors will take place.
