Linda Lurvey

Linda Lurvey of Dousman, Wisconsin, died peacefully at home on November 1, 2015, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on October 6, 1942, in Waukesha, to Ralph and Genevieve (Sprader) Sumpter. Linda was a 1961 graduate of Waukesha South High School. After high school she attended the Marvel school of Beauty culture in Milwaukee and worked as a beautician for several years. She married Ken Lurvey on August 11, 1962. Ken and Linda later operated the family dairy farm together until retirement. Linda is survived by her children, Kim Belton, Kari Alonso, Brad (Michelle) Lurvey and beloved grandchildren, Ryan (Jordan) Belton, Rebecca Belton, Gabriella Alonso, Jessica Lurvey, and Sergio (AJ) Alonso; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by Kenneth, her husband of 52 years, her parents, and her nephew Andrew Sumpter. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa where she served in many capacities through the years. She enjoyed volunteering at the Kettle Moraine Food pantry. Linda is remembered by many as a loving, caring servant who was willing to lend a helping hand wherever and whenever it was needed. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Kiran Turaga, the Froedtert Hospital staff, and the compassionate nurses of Horizon Hospice for their care in her last days. The family suggests donations to the Froedtert Hospital Foundation, 9200 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53225. Funeral services for Linda will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Ottawa, S37 W35415 County Road D, in Dousman, on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the service, all to be held at the church. Burial will take place at Ottawa Cemetery following the service.
