Lois E. Spilger

Lois E. Spilger, age 90, of Oconomowoc, found peace and eternal life on Friday, October 20, 2023. Lois was joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 69 years, Richard. She was born on October 25, 1932 to Ira and Lucille (Marx) Never in Milwaukee.

Lois is survived by her devoted daughter Kim (Duane) Koski and her dear daughter-in-law Deb (Kent) Zunker. She will be missed by her cherished grandchildren Meredith (Andy) Resop, Ben (Wendie) Koski and Lizzy (Ryan) McGough; and her adored great-granddaughters Cecilia, Ada, Parker, and Maeve.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son Scott, and her twin sister and brother-in-law Carol and Don Vogel.

Lois worked in a variety of office settings over the years, from the City of Milwaukee Building Inspection Department to a few physicians’ offices in Oconomowoc. She really shined as an aide at Gilbert Stuart School, as she was tasked to set up their first school library. She followed her husband in every crazy adventure, including buying an old farmhouse and completely remodeling it. She fed many a work crew with a crock pot and hot plate! Lois was very involved in her church’s life as Elder, Deacon, choir member and Sunday School teacher. In retirement, Lois and Dick moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ, where they enjoyed the warm weather and lived many years with a great group of friends and a supportive church family.

Lois was always a lady – polite, hospitable, kind, helpful, cared for others before caring for herself. She was the perfect partner to her husband and he was always proud of his wife!

Lois’ family would like to thank the caregivers from Right at Home, the staff of Linden Court and the staff of Angel’s Grace Hospice for the wonderful care throughout the years.

Visitation is Saturday, November 4 from 10-12 at Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church, Hartland, WI with a memorial service at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lois may be made to Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church or Angel’s Grace Hospice.
