Lois F. Anderle, age 88, of Oconomowoc, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, with her family by her side. She was born September 15, 1932 in Milwaukee to William and Irene (nee Ehlers) Stumpf. When Lois was 15, she met her future husband, Richard Anderle, at a movie theater, when she “accidentally” tripped him. She graduated from Milwaukee Teachers College in 1954. On July 17, 1954 she was united in marriage to Richard. Two years later they welcomed their first baby, and later, with the arrival of a second daughter, their family was complete. Together they loved to travel the world, including a month long adventure where they saw Antarctica. For over 25 years, they were “snow birds” at their home in Superstition Sunrise, Arizona. They were very active, for many years, in the Catholic Church, where Lois sang in and directed the choir, both in Wisconsin and Arizona. Lois was a beloved teacher for many years. She was dedicated to her students, teaching Kindergarten and Third Grade in New Berlin Public Schools. She was one of the first teachers to diversify her teaching to all ability levels of her students. She was an avid reader, and always made sure family dinners were delicious. Lois was an active member of the Red Hat Ladies and the Lois Clubs. She was comforted in the memories of her dog, Cocoa. She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Marc) Wank and Linda (Mike) McVey; her grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Lauren and John; great-grandchildren, Symphonie, Sean, Kendel and Bryson; her special loving and attentive sister-in-law, Karen Lerch and her children, Karey and Steve; godson, Ken (Sue) Hoppe; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; brothers, Jack and William Stumpf; her sisters, Carol Powell and Mary Grace Connell; and brother-in-law, Jim Anderle. A Celebration of Lois’ Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 E. Summit Avenue, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 5:00 p.m. A dinner will follow at Nashotah’s Red Circle Inn. Interment will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park at 10:00 am on Monday, July 26, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Cade’s Corps. for Service Dogs for Veterans with PTSD, C/O Resolutions RX, 7051 Hwy 70 S, #310, Nashville, TN 37221, would be appreciated.
