Lucille I. Schwartz Ashippun -Lucille I. Schwartz, age 86 passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 12:30 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashippun. Burial will be at the Ashippun Lutheran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Church from 9:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Ashippun Lutheran Cemetery, Marquardt Manor, or the charity of one’s choice. The Pagenkopf Funeral Home is serving the family. Lucille I. Schwartz was born on June 28, 1932 in Ashippun, the daughter of Raymond and Laura (Christian) Schuett. On June 15, 1952, she married Lester Schwartz. They lived and farmed in Ashippun on the Family Farm their entire life. She enjoyed farming and her chickens. Lucille liked working with her plants and flowers, playing cards, sewing and knitting. She enjoyed volunteering at Knollward and Shorehaven and was past president of the Service League and past chair of the Angel Tree. She was a 4-H Leader for 53 years and a Red Cross Health Room Volunteer at Ashippun School for 42 years. Lucille worked part-time at the Ashippun Post Office for over 25 years. She was past treasurer of the Town of Ashippun for over 20 years. She enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and spending time with her family. She was baptized on July 7, 1932, confirmed on June 17, 1945 and remained a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ashippun. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid, Alter Guild and served as a Sunday School Teacher and Assisting Minister. She was active with the Ashippun Lutheran Cemetery Association. She is remembered her children, Sarah Kottwitz of Watertown, Sally Schoenike of Ashippun, and David Schwartz of Ashippun, her brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Carol Schuett of Ashippun and her sister-in-law LaVerne Jaeger, of Watertown. She is also remembered by her grandchildren Lynn (Ken) Richardson of Waukesha, and Laura and Kari Schoenike of Ashippun. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Lester, parents Raymond and Laura (Christian) Schuett and Gertrude Schuett, son-in-laws, Herb Kottwitz and Jim Schoenike, brother-in law Franklin Jaeger, and in-laws Conrad and Edna (Braunschweig) Schwartz.
