Drier, Lyle E. (nee Leidersdorf) passed away December 21, 2023 at the age of 75. Loving wife of Dennis for 53 years. Lyle grudgingly lived side-by-side with cancer (multiple myeloma) for 17 years, until the cancer terminated their relationship.
She adored her family and is survived by sisters Joan (Dave) Kaul of Sandwich, IL, and Ann (Bill) Rudolph of Saukville, WI, a brother Bil Leidersdorf of Savannah, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Lyle will be remembered by all who knew her for her warm loving heart, easy smile, contagious laugh, enthusiasm for life, and concern for others. She was an accomplished fiber artist, winning numerous state and national awards for her hooked rugs and wall hangings. She was a member and officer of the Cream City Rug Hookers. She was a long time Board member of the Friends of Retzer Nature Center and served as a volunteer teacher naturalist at the Nature Center where she shared her love and knowledge of nature with hundreds of children and adults. She was a long time volunteer at Stillwaters Cancer Support Services in Waukesha and Angel’sGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. She spent over 40 years as an Antique collector and dealer, sharing her knowledge and passion for antiques with customers and friends.
Lyle requested that a visitation and service not be held. Remember her with a kind thought. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lyle’s name would be appreciated to The Friends of Retzer Nature Center (S14W28167 Madison St, Waukesha, WI 53188).
