Mabel Braunschweig

Mabel Braunschweig, formerly of Ashippun and Watertown, entered eternal life on April 15, 2013 at the age of 97. She was born February 6, 1916 to George and Amalie Gauerke in the town of Ashippun. She became a child of God through infant baptism and remained faithful to her Lord and Savior for the rest of her life. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ashippun. Mabel married Clarence Braunschweig on August 11, 1940. She worked for many years at the Bank of Ashippun, belonged to the Shorehaven Service League and spent many hours volunteering at Shorehaven. She was a loving caregiver for her husband and two sisters. Mabel was generous and hospitable to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, daughter Marie, brothers George and Ben Gauerke, sisters Adela Schellin, Frieda Pankow and Agnes Gauerke. Mabel is survived by many nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mabel will be on Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the chapel at Shorehaven at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Mabel will be laid to rest at LaBelle Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church in Ashippun or to the Shorehaven Chapel Fund.
