Margaret I. Wheeler (nee Pipoly) Feb. 7, 1927 – Mar. 12, 2019 At age 92, Margaret Wheeler of Oconomowoc peacefully entered eternal life on March 12, 2019. She was born Feb 7, 1927 in Brown Deer, WI to Joseph and Irene Pipoly. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, John C. Wheeler of 53 years, sons, James W. Wheeler and John Allen Wheeler, brothers Julius and Elmer Pipoly, and granddaughter, Leah Wheeler. She is survived by her sister Jeannette Bonebreak, and children Terry (Lori) Wheeler, Janet (Tom) Cameron, Christine Carlo, Nancy Wheeler, Laura (Mel) Francis, and Susan (Paul) Huls along with 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Margaret was a master homemaker and organizer on a limited budget. Not only was the house always clean and tidy, she had delicious, scheduled meals her family could count on. Yet there was plenty of time to sit on the floor and play games, go on picnics, walk in the woods or mentor a Hungarian family fleeing their country. She gave people her gift of seeing beauty in simple such as catching fireflies for her niece from California, or telling you when a comet would be in the sky. She dealt with life’s difficulties as they came such as speaking only Hungarian as a child when she started school, the loss of two children, tight finances, or dementia in later life. Through it all, she kept her focus and was a strength and role model for all. Her husband said many times, “The best thing I ever did was to marry your mother”. If you bought fabric at Ben Franklin between 1979-2009, Margaret probably helped you with her artistic eye. She retired at the age of 82 years. She also worked at the North Lake Library from 1966-1968. We will not see her like again and she will be deeply missed by all. From our hearts, the family thanks the Summer Creek staff at Shorehaven for their unwavering care and love of Margaret. Funeral Services will be held with visitation starting at 10am until the service begins at 12pm on Apr. 5, 2019 at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church – 995 S. Silver Lake St., Oconomowoc.
