Marilyn Jean Lauterbach nee Peebles, age 78 of Sussex, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 25,2016. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Kenneth, her children Jerry (Janice) Stricker, James (Gina) Stricker and Mary Ann Barnett; her step-children Jay (Lori) Lauterbach and Jean Lauterbach (John Illian); her siblings Bill (Allene) Peebles and Donna (Don) Christenson; her grand-children Shane Stricker, Michael, Bethany, Jonathan and Nathan Lauterbach, Jon and Matthew Aulgur and Jesse Illian and her great grand-children Adelyn Lauterbach and Kirsa Jankowski. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Frances Peebles. Marilyn was a member of Sussex United Methodist Church. Marilyn graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1956. She was a Past Honor Queen of Job's Daughters and a member of Toastmaster's International. She was also a certified professional secretary for over 20 years and retired in 1996 from MagnaTech Electric, Waukesha. At this point, they began spending Winters in Sun City Arizona. Marilyn and Ken traveled throughout the US in their RV including doing mission work with Roving Volunteers in Christ's Service from 2001-2009, She enjoyed nature, especially birding throughout her life and was an active member of several bird clubs. She & Ken met while dancing and continued to lead an adventurous life filled with boating, square dancing, flying, sky diving, motorcycling, skiing, scuba diving, and golfing - she even shot a Hole in One! Services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00am at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (800 Lake Drive, Oconomowoc, WI off of Hwy Z). Visitation for family and friends will start at 9:00 am with a burial to follow at Glenview Memorial Gardens. Donations in Marilyn's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Audubon Society or your charity of choice.
