Martin A. Snorek

Martin Albert “Marty” Snorek was born to eternal life on June 30, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Marty was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin on September 5, 1939. After graduating from Richland Center High School, he moved to Milwaukee in 1958 and worked for the Druml Construction Company until Oscar Druml dissolved the company and retired in 1984. He then worked for J.F. Shea Construction (Milwaukee deep tunnel) for most of the 10 years it took to complete. Throughout his working career, he was a proud member of the Labor’s Union, local 113 in Milwaukee. Marty and his wife, Barbara (Baader) Snorek moved from Milwaukee to Dousman, Wisconsin, where he continued to live up to the end of his life. He was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Bruno parish in Dousman since moving to the community in 1971. Marty is survived by one daughter, Laura Ann Snorek of Waukesha; his former wife, Barbara of Glendale; brothers Albert (Mary) Black Earth, Raymund (Charlene), Rio, and James (Deidra) Milwaukee; four sisters Anne (Floyd) McCarty, Pinole, California, Mary Moubry, Madison, Margaret Rose Snorek, De Pere, Jeanne (Dale) Lawton, Black Earth as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents Albert George Snorek, Sr. and Teresa Agnes (Schumacher) Snorek, Richland Center, as well as four brothers, Cedric, Lone Rock, Thomas, Sparks, Nevada, Michael, Twin Oaks California, and Joel, Richland Center and one sister, Teresa (Richard) Hoffman, Verona, Wisconsin; brothers-in-laws, Richard Hoffman and Paul Moubry, and nephews, Gerald and Phillip Snorek. His two adopted cats, Calamity Jane and Callie, brought great joy and devoted companionship to his life in his later years. Marty will be remembered by all as a loyal, generous and giving person who always kept his word. His work associates and employees will remember his trustworthiness, dedication, reliability and strong work ethic as the boss who stood behind his workers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bruno Catholic parish in Dousman on Tursday July 5, 2018, with visitation from 9AM to 11 AM followed by Mass at 11AM. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, 14875 W. Greenfield Av, New Berlin. Marty requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 50 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Pagenkopf Funeral Home, Oconomowoc, is assisting the family with arrangements.
