She was born on March 26, 1930 in Anderson, Indiana to parents Paul and Katharine (nee Weaver) Schneider. She is survived by children Katharine Hoffmann, Paul (Cathy) Driftmier, Adrienne (Jeff) Widell; her grandchildren Daniel Miller, Will Driftmier, Sarah Driftmier, Josh Driftmier (Alex), Paul Driftmier, Max Driftmier, Jeannie Driftmier, Jaimi Mellum (Blair Chasteen), Sydney Widell and Abby Widell; her great grandchildren Leta Rose and Evelyn Driftmier, Liam Chasteen, Alexandria Driftmier, Kailee Driftmier and Jaxon Dondlinger; her nephews James (Lorraine) and Dennis Moroney; her brother-in-law Steven Driftmier and many more family and friends. Mary Beth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Donald; her son-in-law Wolfgang Hoffmann; her grandson Matthew Miller and her sister Marjorie Moroney. Mary Beth was a brilliant woman who started every day decoding the morning paper word puzzles and overcame challenges life presented with humor, dignity, and a determination that inspired her family and her many students and friends. Mary Beth was a devoted member of the Lake Country Congregational Church, Sum-Mer-Del Garden Club, Hawks Inn, American Cancer Society, Alpha Phi Sorority and Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served as past Regent of the Milwaukee Chapter. She greatly valued education and committed her support and her time to the success of Brookfield Academy, later serving there as a teacher. Thank you to Dr. Rodriguez and Christine, Dar, Caroline, Mary Beth, Nicky and all the other staff members at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic of Aurora Summit Medical Center for making her treatment a joy, and to her wonderful neighbors Marilyn and Bill, Dawn and Kurt.
