Mary Catherine Geszvain

Mary Catherine (Gerbenskey) Geszvain, age 73, of Chaska, MN, formerly of Ixonia, WI, died Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Lutheran Home of Belle Plaine, MN. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018, 11:00 AM at Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 325 South Main Street, Oconomowoc, WI, with Pastor Larry Harpster officiating. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM at the church. The burial will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia, WI. Mary was born April 27, 1944 in Jefferson, WI, to George Sr. and Marian (Mandeville) Gerbenskey, the youngest of 6 children. Mary married Kenneth Geszvain on June 25, 1966 at the Hartland Congregational Church in Hartland, WI. They had two daughters. Mary and Ken were 48 year residents of Ixonia, WI, before moving to Chaska, MN, in 2016. She served as the Town Clerk in Ixonia for 5 years and was a very active member of Dr. Martin Luther Church. She loved singing in the church choir and also volunteered her time at Shorehaven Nursing Home in Oconomowoc, WI. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George and Charles Gerbenskey. Survivors include her loving husband, Kenneth; daughters, Jenny (Dave) Neubauer of Chaska, Kati Geszvain of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren, David, Steven and Lizzy Neubauer of Chaska; sisters, Susan Cott of DePere, WI, Marlene Kalk of Marinette, WI, Jane Sharpe of Arizona; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements are with the Bertas Funeral Home of Chaska, MN and Pagenkopf Funeral Home in Oconomowoc.
