Mary Jane Hartnett

Mary Jane Hartnett, age 73, of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side in the early morning of December 30, 2018. Jane is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bill Hartnett; her three brothers Colonel John (Merrie) Casper, Dr. Thomas (M.J.) Casper, and Robert (Laura) Casper; and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special neighbors and her group of friends affectionately known as the OBC’s, Robyn Davison, Helen Felland, Rita Loyacono, Lin McClurg, Sally Thomsen, Jan Tweeden, and Susan Tweeden. Jane earned her Bachelor’s from UW Whitewater and Master’s from National Louis University. She was a dedicated teacher for 35 years in the Oconomowoc Area School District. Most of these years were at Okauchee Elementary and her later years were at Meadow View Elementary. Jane was strong, yet sensitive, kind, and caring. She maintained her quick wit and sense of humor throughout her life. All of these traits and more contributed to her being beloved by her many students over the years. She had a profound impact on all who knew and loved her. Services for Jane will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, with a visitation from 10:00am until time of service at noon.
