Mary Lu Foti, 68, passed away at AngelsGrace Hospice on January 24, 2024.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Oconomowoc. She was a graduate of Oconomowoc High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She was a long-time Deli Manager at McAdam’s Pick ‘N Save, and recently retired from a sales position at Food Marketing Services.
Mary was as kind and selfless as they come and was a devoted mother to her two daughters. Named after her paternal grandmother Lucille, Mary Lu emulated “Grandma Lou” by becoming the kind of involved and doting grandma herself who made each grandchild feel extremely loved and special. She spent much of her time involved in her grandchildren’s lives and activities. She made continuous contributions to the Oconomowoc community including volunteering at AngelsGrace Hospice, the Oconomowoc Historical Society, and the Oconomowoc Public Library. She was a woman of deep faith and was an active member of the Thirst Church congregation. Mary enjoyed her book club, prayer group, and trips to Door County. Her quiet strength, humble demeanor, and compassionate spirit benefited everyone who was fortunate to know her.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Robert Davenport, parents Tom and Janice Foti, brother Tommy, and sister Lori. She is survived by her brother Mickey (Patti) Foti, daughters Sara Schnoor (Joe Witherow) and Allison (Kevin) Morrill, grandchildren Michael, Abigail, and William Morrill, brother-in-law Charlie Shaw, and stepson Phil Davenport, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Mary was supported throughout her life and illness by her devoted friend of almost 40 years, Jeff Thompson.
The family would like to express our profound gratitude to the nursing staff at AngelsGrace Hospice, the Oncology and Radiation teams at Froedtert Hospital and to the staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. The compassion and care Mary received was a comfort to all.
A celebration of Mary’s Life was held on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s name are suggested to AngelsGrace Hospice and the This Time Tomorrow Foundation. Pagenkopf Funeral Home is serving the family. For more information, call 262-567-4457 or visit pagenkopf.com.
