MaryAnn Norek

MaryAnn was born on January 20, 1939, to Mae and John Norek in Chicago, Illinois. She lived on both the North and South sides of the city and worked as a secretary and Jewel grocery store employee. She went to Hawaii in 1960 and spoke fondly of the island her whole life. She made the right parental choice by not allowing her daughter to see Elvis Presley due to her upcoming 1st communion celebration in May 1977 although her daughter didn’t agree at the time. 

MaryAnn moved to Wisconsin in 1980 and worked as a Walmart employee earning the title of hardware queen. She spent many years in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin enjoying Milwaukee and lake country.

Family wishes to thank all medical professionals who treated MaryAnn with great kindness and respect.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by both of her parents Mae and John Norek, brothers Leonard and Don Norek. Survived by her daughter Melissa, sister Pat, former spouse Gerald, nieces Lynn, Kathy, Sheila, Tina, Tracy and nephew Don. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when the sun is shining, temperatures are warmer, and family and friends are gathered.
