Matthew Munro’s battle against ALS concluded on May 30, 2024.

Matthew was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and was raised in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 2002 and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English. Later he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Matthew is the son of David and Ruth (Hinkforth) Munro, the brother of Katelyn (Erik) Lasse and Megan Munro, and the uncle of Evelynn and Zoey Lasse. He has many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him greatly. He was a loyal friend to many.

Matthew was a compassionate and generous individual who always fought for the underdog. Matthew loved celebrating Halloween, especially with his nieces. He enjoyed exploring foods from different cultures, writing, playing video games, and helping others.

A Celebration of Matthew’s life will be on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will start at 4:00 PM until a service at 5:00 PM. A private burial will take place after the service for his family at Summit Cemetery.

Matthew’s legacy will live on in his family, friends, and all who knew him.
