Matthew Joseph Stapleton

Matthew Stapleton, beloved son, brother, and father passed away on February 13, 2022, at the age of 26. Matt is survived by his parents, Jerry and Laura Stapleton; his brothers Sean, Elliott and Liam; his sisters Jennifer, Emily, Leah and Charlotte; and the loves of his life, daughters Hayden and Haylee. Matt is further survived by his daughters’ mother Allison Schweinert; grandmother Charlotte Perkins. Matt is preceded in death by his grandfather Douglas Congdon; and grandparents Eugene and Helen Stapleton. Matt will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. At a very young age, Matt became an outdoorsman and loved to share his passions with all. He was especially fond of ice fishing and would frequently take anyone interested with him, including his girls, with iPads in hand, where they would wait to yell “TIP UP!” After graduating from high school, he worked at Grounds Keepers, Inc. in Hartland until taking a job at Home City Ice in Oconomowoc, where he was a dedicated employee for over seven years. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church (W314 N7462 WI-83, Hartland, WI 53029) from 11:00am-1:00pm with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1:00pm.
