Melvin "Sam" Neumann

Melvin 'Sam' Neumann, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 31, 2018. Sam is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Sylvia; his brother Arnold, and his sister Mabel; and his parents Leonard and Hilda. During his early life, Sam was a farmer. He later became the co-owner of Cooney Roofers. He was an avid carpenter and house flipper, and later worked as a disaster appraiser for the SBA. Sam and his wife Sylvia owned a home in Florida where they spent many winters over the last 30 years. Sam was known for his musical talents; playing the organ, accordion, and the concertina. He always looked forward to his Wednesday morning coffee clutch at McDonalds with his buddies; as well as Thursday Happy Hour and watching football and baseball with all of his neighbors at his apartment complex. A private celebration of life will be held a later date. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Aurora Hospital; and a special thanks to the staff at AngelsGrace Hospice for the wonderful care shown to Sam.
