Michael J. Sheldon

Michael John Sheldon, 54, of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mike was born to Donald and Ardis Sheldon. He graduated from Cederburg High School in 1979, received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Psychology, and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Lakeland College. He married Susan Marie Wallman in 1993. They lived together in Oconomowoc, and had one daughter, Allison Marie, attending college at the University of Minnesota. Mike was a Certified Financial Planner, a Certified Trust Financial Advisor, and a Tax Specialist. He worked at Prairie Financial Group (formerly Waukesha State Bank) as a Senior Trust Administrator and Tax Specialist, and he spent over 10 years in Milwaukee at BMO Harris Bank trust division (formerly M&I Bank). He served as a member of the Financial Planning Association and was a board member of the Waukesha County Estate Planning Council. He was awarded for his support of the Madison Hunger Task Force. He was extremely devoted to his wife and daughter, and loved nothing more than spending time with them. He was an avid jogger, cross country skier, reader, and loved following the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gregory. He is survived by his siblings, Paula Metz, Jane Cardwell (Haward), Daniel (Miyo), Mary Osskopp (Mike), John, and Thomas (Mary); aunts and uncles David (Carolyn), and Paul (Wanda); mother-in-law, Charline Wallman of Watertown; brothers-in-law, Charles Wallman (Elizabeth) of Madison, Jeffrey Wallman (Finley) of Arlington, TX, and Andrew Wallman (Jenifer) of Cambridge; and a sister-in-law, Patricia of Milwaukee; numerous cousins and 20 nieces and nephews. Mike will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home in Oconomowoc on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM.
