Michael “Mike” Lingk, age 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2019. He was born on January 12, 1954 to Gerhard and Ida Lingk in Libertyville, Illinois. He worked as a journeyman millwright, packaging mechanic and served proudly in the U.S Marine Corps, at Camp Pendleton, California. Mike is survived by his wife, Renee; his ex-wife Nancy; his sons, Jason (Brittany) Lingk and Jeremy (Sarah) Lingk; step-daughter, Danielle (Jeremy) Streich; grandchildren, Evan, Alissa, Grace, Xander, Rhylie, and another granddaughter expected in December; brothers, Richard and Gerry. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth; and his beloved dog, Loki. Mike was a humble man of unwavering integrity known by friends and loved ones for his quick wit and a steadfast loyalty to those he cared for. His sense of humor never failed to bring cheer into the lives of those who knew him. He had a passion for coins, “fireworks”, motorcycles, and was an avid reader with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Mike loved to work with his hands, and would often spend hours tinkering in the garage, working on home improvement projects or lending a hand to less mechanically inclined friends and loved ones. He will be missed, but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family is asking friends, and loved ones to continue sharing their stories and memories of Mike and how he touched their lives.
