Michael W. Smith

Michael W. Smith died peacefully on November 11, 2015 at the age of 69. Mike was raised on the family farm in Waukesha by the late William F. and Ruth (Rademacker) Smith with siblings Charles (deceased) and Judy (Brian) Evans. He excelled in athletics and was a schoolboy legend in baseball, football & wrestling. Blessed with a brilliant mind, Mike graduated at 16. He married his true love Carol Ann Page at 19 and held her close for the next 50 years. They raised children Ruth (Kevin) Crouse, Rebecca (Ron) Kujawa (deceased), Jennifer (Jon) Vallier, William (Sara), Michael 'Chip' & Margaret (Shannon) Eldridge. Mike called himself “just a builder”, but his legacy as an entrepreneur and construction executive will last long for those he helped, worked with and mentored. His Christian faith and building expertise led him on many mission trips around the US, Central America & Africa. Mike found deep joy taking care of his hobby farm in Pewaukee with Carol and his grandchildren Brita, Ben, Amalia, Robert, Viktor, Emma, Millie, Heidi, Patience, Charlie, Lilly, Sophia, Adlai, Soren, Graham, Savannah, Caroline and Morgan. Mike was a strong, kind man, the Smith family cornerstone and a steadfast friend to many. A celebration of his life will take place Sunday, Nov. 15th at First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa, 1511 Church Street. Visitation at 2:30 pm, Service at 4 PM. Memorials are suggested to the family.
