Mikel Dean Watson, 74, was welcomed into Christ’s presence on January 6th, 2023.
Mikel was born on June 20th, 1948 in Phoenix, AZ where he grew up and worked on his father’s used car lot. He was saved in 1973, and then attended both Arizona Bible College and New Tribes Bible Institute (now Ethnos 360) before serving at New Tribes Mission headquarters in Sanford, Florida for 14 years. Mikel then moved with his family to the aviation branch of New Tribes in Douglas, Arizona where he served six years before later working at Voss Lighting, Boyd Coffee, and Desert Knights.
Mikel was a fan of vintage cars, the LA Dodgers, woodworking, and especially his seven grandchildren. Mikel served the Lord through music, missions, volunteering, and was leading a LIFE Group at the time of his passing. He loved to spend his mornings memorizing Scripture and listening to sermons by R.C. Sproul and John MacArthur.
Mikel is survived by his wife of 53 years, Christina Watson, his daughter Shauna (Luke) Dye, his son Joshua (Karina) Watson and grandchildren Alexandra, Caleb, Max, Hadasa, Avedis, Elenora and Jireh.
A memorial service will be held for Mikel on January 23rd, at 3pm, at White Stone Community Church in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
