Mildred Babich

Mildred Esther Babich passed away on July 28, 2017 at the age of 98. She was born April 4, 1919 in Waupaca County Wisconsin the daughter of Andrew and Lydia Marks. On September 28, 1939 she married Joseph M. Babich. She owned Edgewater Resort on Okauchee Lake with her husband for 23 years. She enjoyed being part of the Edgewater pool and bowling teams. During that time she also was a reporter for the Lake Country Reporter where she wrote a column, was the author of a book called “Gateway to Okauchee” and co-authored a history book about the Town of Oconomowoc. She was very active in the Okauchee Lioness club, Lake Country Museum of Oconomowoc and a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Oconomowoc. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and is survived by her sons Daniel (Pat) Babich, Larry (Rita) Babich and daughter Wendy (Dale) Tunak. Mildred was blessed with Grandchildren Debbie, Michelle, Mark, Jeff, Tim, Kimberly, Melissa, Brad and Kyle and also great Grandchildren Alyssa, Jeremy, Aidan, Gabriel, Lorelei, Jonah, Cody, Brooke, Isaac, Dylan, Tyler, Kylie, Brianna and Alexander. Services will be provided by Pagenkopf Funeral Home on Thursday August 3, 2017 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 145 E. Lisbon Rd. Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Funeral visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with a church service at 11:00 a.m. A special thank you goes to the nurses and staff at Waukesha Springs Health Center and the wonderfully compassionate caregivers at Aseracare hospice healthcare group.
