Muriel "Babe" Petersen

Muriel 'Babe' Wendell Petersen (nee Babcock), passed away peacefully Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the age of 88. She was born Oct 2, 1923, the daughter of Chester and Muriel Babcock. She graduated from Waukesha High School and did clerical work at the Waukesha County Extension office and Waukesha County Veterans Services prior to moving to Tucson, Arizona with her first husband, Raymond Wendell in the early 1970's. She returned to WI in 2005 following the death of her second husband, Donald Petersen. 'Babe' was an avid golfer and enjoyed sewing and needlecrafts. She is lovingly survived by daughter, Penny Berns (Richard Kurz), of Largo, FL; grandchildren, Lisa (Mark) Fleckenstein, Thomas (Lisa) Zimmerman, Mark (Tammy) Kronschnabel, Karla (Jim) Parry, John (Terry) Kronschnabel, Connie (David) Brown, Matthew (Chris) Kronschnabel, thirteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine Babcock and Doris Kranich; brother, John 'Jack' Babcock; and son-in-law, Paul (Ilene) Kronschnabel. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceded in death by both husbands; her parents; daughter, Judith Kronschnabel; brother, Chester 'Bud' Babcock; and sister, Elizabeth Rockteacher. A memorial service will be held at Ewald Chapel at Compass Point on the Three Pillars campus, 365 Sunset Drive, Dousman, WI on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Visitation at 11:00 am, service begins at 11:30 am. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Masonic Center for Health and Rehab for the wonderful care provided to 'Babe' over the past 6 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Masonic Center for Health and Rehabilitation for staff appreciation are appreciated.
