Patricia Sullivan (formally Dziadosz) age 83, of Oconomowoc Wisconsin sadly left us on
March 26, 2024 following a brief illness. She was born on August 30, 1940 in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
She is survived by her loving children Jennifer O’Neil (Jon Wojciechowski), Jeff
Dziadosz (Catherine Kringer), and Ryan Dziadosz (Layla Kasha). Further survived by
her sister Kathy Hochschild. Along with many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Catherine Sullivan, her siblings
Mary Chanos, Eileen Mier, Thomas Sullivan, and Michael Sullivan.
Being born on the eve of World War II to a wise cracking, sarcastic Irish family shaped
our mom, Patricia for the rest of her life. As she once told my sister’s husband… “Don’t
call me mom, call me Pat.” We’ll call her Pat here.
Pat and her sister Kathy were largely inseparable for their entire lives. Maybe the fact
that the more social Pat literally dragged the much shyer Kathy along on adventures
had something to do with being inseparable.
She met Dennis Dziadosz in the late fifties, and were married right out of high school.
Shortly after they had two children Jennifer and Jeffrey, who were born in the early
sixties. The family moved from Milwaukee to Brookfield in the mid-seventies and Ryan
soon followed. Pat and Dennis were married 25 years. In the late eighties, Pat and
Ryan made the move to Oconomowoc.
In the mid-nineties with all her children out of the house and raised, Pat moved to
Phoenix, Arizona where she stayed for the next eighteen years. First moving in with her
older sister Eileen. She was affectionately known as Pat-Pat to our Arizona family and
developed a great friendship with “Cookie” and her family from New Jersey.
Pat later moved back to Oconomowoc to be near family where she remained until she
passed.
Pat was always very proud of her Irish heritage. She was a founding member of the
Shamrock Club and was an Irish step dancer in the sixties bringing all her children into
Irish Dancing. Jeff was out when they tried to make him wear a kilt, Jenni made it a few
years and Ryan lasted the longest for five years in the eighties. You could find Pat in
the crowd on a Milwaukee St. Patrick’s Day parade or trading memories with her family
at the “command post” at Irish Fest. She visited Ireland twice in the late eighties.
For a career, Pat was a master switchboard operator, a receptionist and did other HR
administrative work.
Pat was a fashionista and was always immaculately dressed and put together. Estee
Lauder sales have already slumped since her passing. In fact, many people have
remarked to the family how they remember Pat as always being so stylish.
In her later years Pat enjoyed true crime books, anything with the Royal family (we had
to update her on Kate’s condition in the hospital), and trash TV including “Love After
Lockup,” to which she always added “what could go wrong?” as her own personal
tagline. She was a fan of Coca-Cola (she didn’t drink coffee) and your alarm clock
growing up was the sound of Pat cracking open a Coke while applying her make up.
Pat was also a lifelong Catholic and liked to pray the Rosary.
Underneath the feisty demeanor, eye-rolling, and quips about your appearance, Pat did
have a true caring for people, especially her family. She was always a champion for the
underdog. Pat faced a lot of personal obstacles in her life, some entirely of her own
making, yet always soldiered on putting one foot in front of the other. She had a quiet
resilience that, looking back, is hard to ignore.
Unfortunately, poor health was one thing Pat could not beat, she passed at
Oconomowoc Memorial hospital surrounded by her three children, family, and sister
Kathy, whom she took along on one final adventure.
A visitation to honor Pat’s life will take place on Saturday, April 6 th , 2024, at Pagenkopf
