Richard Ben Spilger

Richard "Dick" B. Spilger, age 89, of Oconomowoc, entered into the Lord's arms on Monday, May 24, 2021. He was born on January 22, 1932 to Ben and Pauline (Schulz) Spilger in Milwaukee. Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Lois (nee Never); his devoted daughter, Kim (Duane) Koski; his dear daughter-in-law, Deb (Kent) Zunker; his cherished grandchildren, Meredith (Andy) Resop, Benjamin Koski and Lizzy (Ryan) McGough; and his adored greatgrandchildren, Cecilia and Ada Resop. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Thomas and Ronald; his son, Scott; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Don Vogel. Dick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a photo interpreter. He worked in Milwaukee's electrical industry for 45 years, and retired as Executive Vice President of Terminal-Andrae. Dick enjoyed sharing memories of working on the VA Hospital, County Stadium, Miller Brewing and many other places around Milwaukee. He literally lit up the city of Milwaukee! Dick loved being a snow bird in Lake Havasu City, AZ, and had a wonderful group of friends there. He was honored to attend the 50th Stars and Stripes Honor Flight with his grandson, Ben. Dick was an active member of Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church. Dick always had a positive, encouraging attitude and could light up any room with his smile! Dick's family would like to especially thank the caregivers from Right at Home who cared for him and Lois. They truly became part of the family. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 4 at the Chapel of the Chimes at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Drive in Brookfield, with a visitation from 1 :00 p.m. until the time of service. Military Honors will follow, and a dessert reception will be held in the Great Memorial Lounge.
