Richard F. Mazurek

Richard 'Dick' F. Mazurek, age 89, of Oconomowoc, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Dick is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 52 years; his daughter Bonnie (Kurt) Mau; his grandchildren Rick (Robin) Mau, Sadie (Tom) Ek and Julie (Ryan) Erdmann; his great grandchildren Payton Platt, Gavin and Gage Ek, Elizabeth and Sam Erdmann; his sisters-in-law Beverly Ward, Sharon (Al) Bartelt and brother-in-law Dan (Connie) Clemans along with many more family and friends. Dick was a family man and had a great love for his family and his music. He had a radiant personality and everyone he met was touched with his inspiring outlook on life. Dick played the accordion with passion, great humbleness, and created joy for all that heard his music. He played with several different bands, for parties, nursing homes and also family and friends. He had a 3 piece band for several years called 'The Good Times Band'. Dick especially enjoyed Polka music, fishing, working on his lawn, and was a very skilled pool player. He was a do it yourselfer and there wasn't anything he couldn't do. Being a perfectionist, everything he did was 'perfect'. He retired from Johnson Controls, as a production supervisor, in 1990 after 41 years of service. A memorial service will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church (N60W35980 Lake Dr, Oconomowoc) on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. A visitation will be held from 10:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am. A future burial will take place at LaBelle Cemetery in Oconomowoc. In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to Lord of Life Lutheran Church or to AngelsGrace Hospice both in Oconomwoc. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at AngelsGrace Hospice and to Aurora Hospital for the loving care shown to Dick and his family.
