Robert B. Hamilton

Robert B. Hamilton Jr.

Born on November 26, 1938, in Milwaukee, WI, as the oldest son in a family of 4 boys to Robert Sr. and Arbutus (Penny) Hamilton. Born into eternal life on February 29, 2024, at the age of 85.

Robert was loved deeply by his family and will be remembered warmly for his optimism, determination, and strong work ethic, along with his empathy, creativity, and fun-loving approach to life. He was a fan of fast cars, boats, and motorcycles and was always up for a good project. In his later years, he loved sharing stories about his time as a young man playing drums as a band member with the Belairs in the 1950s.

He spent several years as a Plant Manager for a canning company in Sussex, WI, and owned a carpet store for a while in Genesee Depot, WI. But his true passion came through when he started Construction Management over 40 years ago and built homes and commercial properties around Waukesha County until he eventually retired at the age of 84.

He was active in his community in many ways, including his involvement with St. Paul's Church and the Genesee Lions Club. He was the Genesee Town Building Inspector for several years and sat on the Waukesha Planning Commission Board. He also co-founded the Genesee Trailblazers, a snowmobile club he and Judy enjoyed partaking in during the late 1960s and into the 1970s.

But most important to Robert was always his family. Anyone who spent time with him was regaled with stories about his daughters and grandkids. And if time allowed, he'd pull out photos and continue with the stories for as long as people would listen. His pride in his family was immense. He was known and loved by his grandkids as an artist, creative problem solver, and, in his later years, for being full of funny one-liners.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Judy, and his five daughters, Joyce (Mike), Jeanne (Mark), Linda (Brian), Cheryl (Todd), and Kristen (John), as a devoted and hardworking father who loved and always prioritized his family. In addition to his wife and daughters and their spouses, he is survived by twelve grandchildren (Nicholas, Mikaela, Sarah, Gabriel, Elise, Olivia, Carly, Samuel, Elliott, Emily, Jack, and Luke) and two great-grandchildren (Ezra and Rhett). He is also survived by his brothers Mike (Jana) and Pat (Nancy) and their families. Robert's zest for life, optimism, and can-do spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family is incredibly appreciative and would like to express their deep gratitude for the excellent care and kindness extended to Robert by the staff at Linden Grove in Mukwonago during his final weeks of life.

A visitation will be held from 9-11am on Friday, March 8, 2024, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Genesee Depot, WI, followed by a mass at 11am.
