Robert B. Latzel (Bob)
Bob joined his wife Gloria in their heavenly home on October 30, 2023. Bob was born in Milwaukee on July 22, 1933, son of Lydia and Bernard Latzel. Bob graduated from Custer High School. Following a tour of duty in Korea as a member of the military police he attended Milwaukee Area Technical College earning an Associate Degree in Engineering.
He met the love of his life, Gloria, on a blind date while roller skating where he not only fell many times but fell head over heels for his future wife. They were married on May 29, 1954. Together they cherished 46 years together and raised two loving children Sandy and Bob.
Having a variety of talents, it led him to AC Electronics, Schlitz Brewery, and he finished his career at The Wisconsin Masonic Home.
Bob was passionate about and enjoyed volunteering with the Dousman Fire Department, camping, traveling, boating, waterskiing, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. His second greatest passion was the Masonic Fraternity. He was a Past Master of 4 different lodges, Past Grand Commander for the state of Wisconsin, and a member of the Wisconsin Red Cross of Constantine. His greatest passion was his precious family where he enjoyed spending time and sharing his life with all of them. In Dad’s own words he said” I have led a long and wonderful life.”
He will be missed by his beloved children: daughter Sandra (Jeffrey) Anderson, son Robert (Michelle) Latzel; grandchildren: Heath (Nicole) Anderson, Emily (Shawn) Dilley, Samantha (Andrew) Pustina, Lauren (Matthew) Meindel, Shayne (Lindsey) Latzel and Tristan Latzel; seven great grandchildren; his cherished brother James (late wife Nancy) Latzel, cherished brother-in-law Ronald (Bonnie) Roben; and many adored nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria, his parents Bernard and Lydia Latzel, and his sister Lois (Warren) Zander.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday November 15, 2023, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane Oconomowoc, WI. Visitation 9:00AM–11:00AM, Service 11:00AM, luncheon following the service. 2:30PM. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. 13235 Capital Dr. Brookfield, WI.
In lieu flowers, Bob requests donations may be made to Wisconsin Masonic Foundation, Dousman Fire Department, or Howard Young Foundation (Cardiac Rehab).
