Robert H. Nowak

Robert (Bob) Nowak entered into eternal life on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Bob was born Feb. 25, 1930 in Rochester, New York. He is survived by his wife Mildred (Nee Scharkowsky), and children, Janet, Pewaukee, Steven, Auburn Hills, Mich., Theodore (Sue), Brookfield, and Ellen (Dan), Fort Mill, S.C., as well as other extended family, including grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Gregory, Milwaukee; his parents, John and Mary, Rochester, New York; brother Richard, Cleveland Heights, Ohio and sister Evelyn Velan, Rochester, New York. A graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Rochester, New York, Bob was an accomplished athlete, lettering in basketball, football and baseball. In 1952, he graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. A devout Catholic, Bob met Mildred in the St. Leo Young People’s Group in Milwaukee. They married in 1954, and the two shared a loving 62‐year marriage. His professional career included management positions at A.O. Smith, Delco Electronics and the Eaton Corporation. Bob’s life‐long, endearing trademarks were his positive outlook, warm smile and kindhearted sense of humor. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 28 at St. Jerome Catholic Church.
